Right now we pay up to $40 for test strips (Accu-Chek Aviva Plus 100ct), up to $90 for CGM sensors (Dexcom G7 15 Day Sensors) and up to $325 for Omnipod (Omnipod 5 Starter Kit), per sealed box sent by mail. Those are the most we pay for a sealed, undamaged retail box; the final offer depends on the box condition and the date printed on the box.

Mail-in buyers pay per sealed box, and the brand and the box size decide most of the number. A 100-count box of test strips is worth far more than a 50-count box of the same brand, and CGM sensors and Omnipod pods are worth more per box than strips. The full list below shows the most we pay for every product we buy by mail.

Which test strips mail-in buyers pay for

We buy three strip brands by mail:

  • Accu-Chek: Guide, Aviva Plus and SmartView.
  • Contour: Contour and Contour NEXT, in 50-count and 100-count boxes.
  • FreeStyle: FreeStyle Lite and InsuLinx.

We don't buy OneTouch, True Metrix or Dexcom G6 right now. Beyond strips, the list covers Dexcom G7 sensors and receivers, FreeStyle Libre sensors, Medtronic Guardian sensors and Omnipod 5 pods and starter kits. Products without a posted price, such as Omnipod DASH, are quoted when you send a photo.

What changes your offer

The posted price is the most we pay for a box. Your offer can come in at that price or below it, and three things decide which:

  • Sealed in the original packaging. Only sealed boxes can be bought. An opened box cannot be sold by mail at any price, so leave every box closed, even to check what is inside.
  • The condition of the box. A clean, undamaged retail box is what the posted price is for. Keep boxes flat and dry, and pack them so they arrive the way they left your cupboard.
  • The date printed on the box. It matters, so make sure it is easy to read in the photo you send with your quote request.

Every sealed box on the list is priced on its own, so you can send one box or a whole cupboard. Mixed brands go in one kit and one payment.

How selling test strips by mail works

  1. Start a mail-in kit. Fill in the mail-in kit form with what you have and how many boxes. You see the price for each box as you go.
  2. Get your free prepaid label. We email you a prepaid shipping label. You pay nothing to ship.
  3. Pack and drop off. Put the sealed boxes in a sturdy carton, stick on the label and drop it at the post office. Our guide on how to pack diabetic supplies for shipping covers the details.
  4. Get paid the next day after your box arrives. Payment goes out the day after the parcel reaches us.

The homepage has the same steps in short form under how it works, and the full walkthrough is in how to sell diabetic supplies by mail.

Mail-in or local pickup?

Mail-in is open from every state and has the posted prices above. Local pickup is quoted one seller at a time, because it depends on where you are and how much you have. If a buyer serves your area, the sell test strips page lists them by state, and you can call or text for a local quote.

How to compare mail-in buyers

A posted price is only useful if the rest of the deal is clear. Before you ship to anyone, check:

  • Is the price per box, and for the exact product and box size you have?
  • Is the shipping label free and prepaid?
  • When are you paid, and how? Get it in writing.
  • Can you say no after you see your offer?

Our checklist on how to tell whether a test strip buyer is legit goes further.

Before you ship

Selling your own sealed supplies is generally allowed. Supplies paid for through a government-covered program cannot be resold. If you are unsure, read whether it is legal to sell diabetic test strips first. This is general information, not legal advice.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do mail-in test strip buyers pay per box?

It depends on the brand and the box size: a 100-count box is worth far more than a 50-count box. Our current mail-in prices for every product we buy are in the price list on this page and on our prices page, shown as the most we pay per sealed box.

Why are the prices listed as "up to"?

Each price is the most we pay for one sealed, undamaged retail box. The final offer depends on the box condition and the date printed on the box, so it can come in at the posted price or below it.

Do I have to pay for shipping?

No. We email you a free prepaid shipping label. You pack the sealed boxes, stick on the label and drop the parcel at the post office.

How fast do I get paid for test strips sent by mail?

You are paid the next day after your box arrives.

Which test strip brands do you buy by mail?

Can I sell opened boxes of test strips by mail?

No. Only sealed boxes in their original packaging can be bought. Leave every box closed, even to check what is inside.
